Born in Malta in 1965, Fiona Camilleri took her education in England and Germany before earning her B.A. Degree at Reading University in 1989.
After finishing her studies she moved to Barcelona where she has spent the last 15 years. Her work is figurative, and influenced by the passsions, traditions and colours of her environment.
She grew up around horses, which form a substantial part of her work . Her paintings and portraits of horses capture their mood and expressions as if they were people.
Her most recent work however has opened out and is focused on capturing a moment in time, a moment of calm and tranquility, a mood. Her colours are more muted and quieter.
Fiona recently featured at Green Stage Gallery's Easter exhibition along with Mercedes Elias and Andrea Luchi adding a Barcelona flavour to the proceedings.
